About the ICL

The Inter-Canyon League (ICL), a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and preserving the canyons' way of life, was initially organized in response to the devastating flood of 1969 when a mudslide killed 7 people sheltered at the Silverado volunteer fire station after 18 inches of rain fell within 72 hours. Inter-Canyon League News

The Inter-Canyon League was a recent recipient of the California Emergency Services Association Gold Award which is an award presented to an individual, group or organization for outstanding service in the Emergency Management field. The ICL was nominated by the OCSD Emergency Management Bureau to recognize the actions taken during the 2010 Winter Storm event when the ICL working with other Orange County COAD members coordinated volunteers and donations to assist with clean-up recovery efforts in the canyons. On behalf of the Inter-Canyon League, Director Mary Schreiber accepted this award on October 5, 2011 at the 2011 CESA Conference in San Diego California and is shown receiving the award along with other Orange County COAD agencies.
