| WELCOME TO CANYON WATCH The Canyon Watch Program is comprised of volunteer 2-way radio communicators who donate their time conducting patrols during red flag and other situations. Although the majority of participants in the program are canyon residents, the program also includes volunteers from the "flat land" areas of Orange County. |
|
WHAT IS THE ROLE OF CANYON WATCH? During red flag and other adverse weather condition situations that could potentially threaten the properties of canyon residents, Canyon Watch volunteers activate to provide "safety and observation" patrols, acting as the "eyes and ears" for "first responder" agencies such as fire and law enforcement. The volunteers usually do not have public contact and have no law enforcement authority. Their primary mission is to activate during adverse weather conditions, conduct patrols within defined canyon areas, and report all situations to the Net Control Operator on duty. |
