SILVERADO RESIDENT LAUNCHES EFFORT FOR LOCAL CELL SERVICE

2007.0
2-16 | Friday
Silverado Canyon resident Hank Rodgers is beginning an effort to get cell phone service in the canyons.

The primary reason is safety.

Rodgers is planning to meet with police and fire officers to request statements on the need for service in this area. He also will collect signatures on petitions.

Currently Silverado Canyon has Sprint cell phone repeaters installed up to Sycamore Drive.  The hope is that they can be installed to the end of the canyon on existing telephone poles.

Although cell phone companies dislike doing it, they can install a system that will serve all carriers.

Anyone interested in helping can reach Hank via e-mail.
